Hello Friends, Do you like to eat pie? Do you have a favorite kind of pie? Have you ever helped someone make a pie? I enjoy eating pie! I have helped my mother and grandmother make a few pies before! (And I’m glad they were there to show me the ropes!) My favorite kind of pie is French Silk Pie: its got a thin crust, a chocolate filling, and a whipped cream frosting and then topped with chocolate shavings on top! However, you can never go wrong with the traditional apple, peach,......

Hello Friends, A few days ago, the Church entered into a new season (although it is observed annually). Do you know what season I am talking about? No, it’s not Advent or Christmas. It is part of Easter. The season the Church entered is known as Lent. Lent marks the beginning of the Easter season; and it began a few days ago on what we call Ash Wednesday. So, I thought it would be wise to share with you a little bit about Lent and why it is so important to observe.......

Hello Friends, I hope you are enjoying these warmer temperatures! It’s strange to think that last week the average temperature was around 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the week before that temperatures barely reached 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I don’t know about you, but I enjoyed the temperatures this past week. I didn’t have to use an electric heater in the office to stay warm or where my jacket while I worked or rub my hands together to keep them warm. It sort of felt like Spring! I’m not ready for the Spring yard......

Hello Friends, Brrrrrrrr…it certainly is cold outside! I was looking at the weather for this upcoming week and I saw that the weather forecast is predicting temperatures in the single digits at night and temperatures only reaching the mid-teens during the day. That is just too cold, especially if there isn’t any snow on the ground. Speaking of snow, I did hear that we have a chance of snow for the near future! I guess ole Mr. Punxsutawney Phil was correct…we have six more weeks of winter. Brrrrr…. I hope you stay......

Hello Friends, Well did you get any Valentine’s Day cards or candies from any secret admirers?!?! I can remember when I was your age and in elementary school, every year my teachers would put together a Valentine’s Day Party. We were instructed to bring treats for everyone, have a Valentine for everyone, and to make some sort of decorative box to place the Valentines in. Almost every year when I opened my box, I would receive one or two Valentines that were signed “From Your Secret Admirer.” At the time I didn’t......

Hello Friends, Well, last week Mr. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow…. which means that we have six more weeks of winter. I was personally looking forward to six more weeks to Spring, but I guess six more weeks of winter isn’t that bad as long as we get one more snowfall! What do you think? Is Punxsutawney Phil correct? Do you want more wintery days or are you ready for Spring? Every year on Groundhog Day, speaking of Punxsutawney Phil, the people who tune in to listen for the outcome are surprised......

Hello Friends, How are you doing today? I was driving through town the other day and I noticed something….A few weeks ago when we had all that snow, there was a house downtown that had a lot of snowmen in the front yard and I believe there was even a small fort (or it could have been where the snowmen lived). Needless to say, I drove by that same house this past week, and because of the warmer weather, those snowmen aren’t there any more. Do you think they took a ride......

Hello Friends, Have you been able to warm up after such cold and chilly wintry days this past week? I don’t know about you, I’m still trying to warm up and I think I have had a mug of hot-chocolate every day….and I even put more blankets on the couch. It has been “down right” cold. However, I did see on the weather channel the other day that we are supposed to experience some warmer temperatures this week: temperatures maybe in the 20s, 30s, and even 40s. It’s going to be a......

Hello Friends, Well, we are halfway through the first month of 2025…that is hard to believe. Didn’t we just celebrate Christmas? Didn’t we just welcome in the New Year? For many of you, you just went back to school last week after two weeks off and then another week off due to unsafe weather conditions. This year has certainly been put into high gear. However, I hope you are doing well, staying warm, and staying safe, and enjoying 2025. The weather is going to get chilly soon and I have heard reports......

Hello Friends, “Let it Snow. Let it Snow. Let it Snow!” Well, have you enjoyed your extended Christmas Break?! From receiving snow on Sunday and Monday, experiencing chilly temperatures, and then embracing more snow on Friday, I’m sure you are not complaining about not going back to school. It certainly has been an interesting week when it comes to the weather. Have you been able to enjoy the snow? Did you make a snowman, a snow angel, or even a fort?
